Trust defies the laws of physics –
It is a heavy burden when you receive it, a heavy piece of metal that’s both shiny and fragile, brittle, for it is easy to shatter and impossible to mend back together to what it was.
But it also doesn’t get lighter when you give it away; it gets heavier, again, as if the medal you just gave out now has a mirror on you, hanging around your neck. Trust hangs heavy.
It’s actually much more like a candle – you can light many others on fire and never go out; however, if it burns out completely, that’s it. It’s done. No more fire, just ashes, and ashes never turn into a fire again.
I trust.
