I find it fascinating that there will not ever be one day when we look directly into our own eyes.
Through the lenses and reflections and pictures we may be able to capture what stands out most in our features, but what is it like to look into the windows of our own souls? Sure, we all look in the mirror – we know what our good side is and that there is a dimple on the right side of my mouth. But I will never be able to capture the brightness my eyes show when I’m happy, or the angst when I’m sad. My image will always be inverted or artificial, and there is something beautiful about that.
That’s why you need a soulmate – that’s why you need someone who’s the other half of your soul to be able to look into your eyes.
