I don’t mind

Eyes that enlighten me.
Eyes that gossip to me what your stubborn mouth keeps in –
eyes that should be mirrors but are telescopes.
Let me not look at anything else –
let me stare back for my stare are my words,
thousands of words unspoken
thought of in the fraction of a second.
Deep like the calm sea on the surface
Curtains of waves pushing me onto the shore
then rolling back while you’re laughing at me
But I don’t mind.
